STAKEHOLDER’S NOTIFICATION ON COVID-19 VIRUS OUTBREAK 25 MARCH 2020

Go back

Following His Excellency, President Dr. Hage G. Geingob and Cabinet’s declaration of the State of the Emergency on COVID-19 on 17th March 2020, and the national response measures briefing by His Excellency again on COVID-19 on the 24th March 2020, the Environmental Investment Fund of Namibia (Fund) has resolved to adopt the following additional measures in order to strengthen the Fund’s preparedness and response to the COVID-19 and to prevent further transmission of the virus within its areas of operation and jurisdiction.

To ensure that the Fund complies with the national response measures announced by His Excellency on 24 March 2020, the Fund hereby announces that it will be suspending its normal office operating hours (08:00-17:00) and access to its national building. This suspension of the working hours is effective from the 25th March 2020 as of 10:00 until 14th April 2020 at which point further guidance is expected to be provided by the government that will guide the Fund further as to how to operate in the midst of the COVID-19 virus outbreak. All our engagements will be restricted to virtual platforms, such as telephonic and teleconference means, during this period.

The Fund’s electronic forms of communications such as emails, social media, website and communications department will still be available to handle all queries. For updated information, all our stakeholders are reminded to visit our website: https://www.eif.org.na; and social media platforms: Facebook: EIF Namibia, Twitter: @Green_Viewpoint, Instagram: @eifnamibia and Linkedln: EIF Namibia. We envisage that our production output, rate of response and efficiency will be reduced as a result of these measures. We, therefore, ask for our partners’ indulgence, as our responses are likely to take longer than expected during this period.
